That is the same as
(-11b-4)-(-b+3)[/tex}.  Negatives are gross, so let's distribute it.  Remember, that negative can be turned into a positive by changing the sign on every term in the parentheses.  It's called distributing the negative.  So we can change it to [tex](-11b-4)+(b-3). Now it's just basic addition.


-11b-4+b-3  =  -10b-7

So your final answer is:


-10b-7
