Answer: $15

Explanation:

Let the price of general ticket be x and the price of student ticket be y.

Since, student tickets cost $6.00 less than the general admission tickets.

\Rightarrow y=x-6

Also, the total amount of money collected for student tickets was $1800 and for general admission tickets, $3000.

The number of student tickets sold =
(1800)/(y)=(1800)/(x-6)

The number of general tickets sold =
(3000)/(x)

Since, car show sold the same number of general admission tickets as student discount tickets.

Thus,

(1800)/(x-6)=(3000)/(x)\\\\\Rightarrow1800x=3000(x-6)\\\\\Rightarrow1800x=3000x-18000\\\\\Rightarrow3000x-1800x=18000\\\\\Rightarrow1200x=18000\\\\\Rightarrow x=15

Hence, the price of a general admission ticket = $15
