She has already run 10 miles; adding this to the previous expression gives us 5h+10.

She wants to run more than 50 miles; this gives us the inequality

5h+10 > 50

Subtract 10 from each side:

5h+10-10 > 50-10

Divide both sides by 5:

5h/5 > 40/5

The answer is B because 50mi is the amount she needs to run. If you subtract 10mi from that (what she already ran), you get 40. Then divide 40 by 5 you get 8 so 8 would be the exact minimum to reach her goal.
