The residual value is the vertical distance between the observed value and the predicted value. In other words,

residual value = point in scatter plot - point in the line of best fit

When
x=2, the corresponding scatter plot point is at
y=1 and the corresponding point in the line of best fit is
y=2 [can be seen from the graph]

Hence,

residual value =
1-2=-1. Answer choice B is correct.
