The product of a man's age 6 years ago and his age 10 years hence is 960. Find his age now.

Let his current age be
x. Then


(x-6)(x+1)=960\implies x=\frac52\pm\frac{√(3889)}2

only one of which is positive,


x=\frac52+\frac{√(3889)}2\approx33.68
