If I am remembering correctly, I think that religion played a big part in the Inca's human sacrifice. They worshipped their multiple gods, and sacrificed humans to satisfy their Gods. I believe that every little aspect of their life was linked to religion, like working, marriage, government, ceremonies, etc. I believe religion played a part in who held the most powerful position in government, and some people were superior to others. I believe these people were called "Sapa Inca", but i'm not 100% sure. I'm not sure if this helped at all, but I hope it helped you a little bit! :)
