23(x−7)=−2

The answer is 159/23

divide 23 on both sides
and then add 7

Use the distributive property
23x-161=-2
then you can just solve normally by getting the x alone.
add 161 to both sides
23x=159
then you dived 23 on both sides
x=6.91
