Answer/Step-by-step explanation:

Given two points on a line, (-4, 10) and (0, 2), the slope of the line is calculated as follows:

slope (m) = (y_2 - y_1)/(x_2 - x_1)

Let,

(-4, 10) = (x_1, y_1)

(0, 2) = (x_2, y_2)

Plug in the values

slope (m) = (2 - 10)/(0 - (-4))

slope (m) = (-8)/(4) = -2

Slope = -2

The wrong formula was used. Slope is supposed to be change in y over change in x. Rather the difference of each coordinates was solved and divided by each other, which makes the whole calculation wrong.
