To solve:
Distribute the 4 to the 5x and –7 by MULTIPLYING.

4(5x)=20x + 4(–7)=–28

20x-28=10x+2 is your new equation.

Subtract 10x from BOTH SIDES to isolate your variable, "x".
20x-10x=10x
10x-10x=0

10x-28=2 is your new equation.

Add 28 to BOTH SIDES to isolate your variable more.
–28+28=0
2+28=30

10x=30 is your new equation.

Finally, DIVIDE both sides by 10 to finish isolating the variable.
10x/10=x
30/10=3

x=3 is your FINAL, SIMPLIFIED answer.
