This is a geometric series where r=2. So your fourth week should be 16.
i= 1 and n=4 so your equation is (1-r^n)/(1-r)
This would be 1-16/1-2= -15/-1= 15/1 = 15
Now just add your initial value (i=1) 1+15 = 16
So 16 cakes
