y = 3x +2

And

-4x +2y = 8

Les't do the replacement of y = 3x+2
In the equation of donw

-4x + 2.( 3x+2) = 8

Now do the distributive

-4x + 2.3x + 2.2 = 8

-4x +6x+4=8

2x +4 =8

2x = 8-4

2x = 4

x = 4÷2

x = 2

Then,

y = 3x +2

y = 3.2 +3

y = 8

That is,

(x,y) = (2,8)

I hope this has helped.
