12. The independent variable is usually after IF. e.g. "If I increase the temperature in my freezer (independent, I change it), then my ice cream will melt (dependent, I didn't make it happen directly).

16. A control is something you leave alone, don't apply the independent variable to (likely there was a control in this experiment, but I have no way to be sure).
17. Data collection should take place during the experiment.
