Fungi are classified as heterotrophs like animals.
Because they absorb their food instead of making it.
They lack many of the important structures, like the roots, stems and leaves. Their cell wall contains chitin not cellulose and they absorb their food.
They lack tissue differentiation and cell walls of chitin.
