5-(x+5)>-2(x+4) *Distribute the -2
5-(x+5)>-2x-4 *Subtract 5
-(x+5)>-2x-9 *Distribute -1
-x-5>-2x-9 *Add 2x
x-5>-9 *Add 5
x>4
