suppose the cost of renting a scooter varies directly with the number of hours. It costs $37.50 to rent a scooter for 5 hours. a.) what is an equation that relates the number of hours x to the rental cost y? b.) what is the graph of the equation in part a?

a) Let, the number of Hours = x
Rental Cost = y

Equation would be: 37.50 = 5x

b) Here, x = 37.50/5 = 7.5

So, Coordinates of your Graph would be: (1, 7.5), (2, 15), (3, 22.5) (4, 30)

Hope this helps!

y = (37.50/5)x
y = 7.50x

Graph: Since the graph will start at the origin (0,0) and has a constant rate of $7.50 per hour, the graph will be linear and in proportion. Some cooridinate are as follows:

x: 0 1 2 3 4 5 ....(add 1...)
y: 7.5 15 22.5 30 37.50 45....(add 7.50...)
