(-4/3) x + (1/6) < (7/9)
subtract (1/6) from both sides
(-4/3) x < (7/9) - (1/6)
(-4/3) x < (14/18) - (3/18)
(-4/3) x < (11/18)
Multiply both sides by (-3/4) (the reciprocal of (-4/3)
(-3/4)(-4/3) x > (11/18)(-3/4) Dividing by - you have to switch the inequality sign to the other direction.
x > (-33/72); x > -11/24

-4/3x + 1/6 < 7/9

-4/3x < 7/9 - 1/6 7/9 - 1/6 = 42/54 - 9/54 = 33/54 = 11/18

-4/3x < 11/18

-x < 11/18 ÷ 4/3 11/18 ÷ 4/3 = 11/24

-x < 11/24

x > -11/24
