1) Let m = the weight of one magazine2) So 3m = 3 /8 pounds (we'll get rid of pounds for now, and put it back later--it's just a unit and not a variable)3) So m = 3/8 divided by 34) So m = 3/8 multiplied by the reciprocal 1/3 = 3/8 * 1/35) The threes cancel each other, so m = 1/8 pounds That's it! The weight of one magazine is 1/8 pounds.
