2x + 4y - 8 = 0....if we put this in y = mx + b form, we will have the slope in the m position and the y int in the b position

4y = -2x + 8
y = -1/2x + 2......so the slope is -1/2 and the y int is 2 or (0,2)

the x int can be found by subbing in 0 for y and solving for x
4y = -2x + 8
4(0) = -2x + 8
2x = 8
x = 8/2
x = 4...so the x int is 4 or (4,0)

** little tip....u can also find the y int by subbing in 0 for x and solving for y...but u wouldn't have the slope
