\displaystyle\\ -2.8x + 5.6 \ \textless \ 8.4 \\ \\ -2.8x \ \textless \ 8.4 -5.6 \\ \\ -2.8x \ \textless \ 2.8 \\ \\ x \ \textgreater (2.8)/(-2.8)\\\\ x \ \textgreater \ -1\\\\ \boxed{\bold{x \in (-1,~\infty)}}

−2.8x + 5.6 < 8.4

subtract 5.6 from both sides and you get -2.8x<2.8

Next you divide both sides by -2.8 and you end up with x > -1

Your final answer is x>-1
If you are putting this on a number line it would be an open circle going to the right
