How was the concept of representative government reflected in the royal colonies? What aspects of these governments did NOT reflect the concept of representative government?

1)As far as I remember, the way how the concept of representative government was reflected in the royal colonies is that their governor reported the soldiers back to England after the presentation of the colony.

2) I bet that the aspects of these governments which did not reflect the concept of representative government are : the greatest part of members was not chosen by the members themselves, it was determined by the government.
