as its a rhombus, all sides are of equal length, so 2x +y +1 = x -y => x +1 = -2y (3x -y -2)/2 = x -y => 3x -y -2 = 2x -2y => -y = x -2
Both equations simultaneously equated => 2x -4 = x +1 => x=5
Plug back in for y => -y = 5 -2 = 3 => y = -3
and then the perimeter is 2x +y +1 +x -y + (3x -y -2) = 6x -y -1
6*5 - (-3) -1 = 32
Perimeter is 32
