To calculate the percentage error, we use:
% Error = (actual value - read value) x 100 / actual value
% Error = -0.63%

The minus sign indicates that the actual value is less than the read value

Answer:

%age Error = 0.625 %

Solution:

Data Given:

Measured Value = 7.95 mL

Accepted Value = 8.0 mL

%age Error = ?

Step 1: Calculate difference between Accepted and Measure value:

Difference = Accepted Value - Measure Value

Difference = 8.0 mL - 7.95 mL

Difference = 0.05 mL

Step 2: Calculate %age Error as;

%age Error = (Difference in Values ÷ Accepted Value) × 100

%age Error = (0.05 mL ÷ 8.0 mL) × 100

%age Error = 0.00625 × 100

%age Error = 0.625 %
