Tom bought several clients is it a new car. He paid for a sales tax of 7.5% on the appliances and a tax of 6.5% on the car. Before these taxes, the appliances and car together cost $15,200. If he paid a total of $1015 in taxes, how much money did the car cost?

x = car cost
y = appliances cost

x + y = 15200
7.5%(y) + 6.5%(x) = 1015

x=12500
y= 2700

So the car costs $12,500
