Help please !

1. Simplify the following expression
144 divided by 12+5*6 divided by 3

Is it 34??

2. Simplify the following expression
11(x-3)+5

Would u use pemdas for this ?

okay so for number one you use PEMDAS so you can either divide 144 by 12 first or multiply 5 and 6 or divide 6 by 3.
Normally, I do multiplicarion first so the first step would be to multiply 5 and 6 with is 30 so the new equation is 144/12+30/3 okay and then do the divisions.
So the new equation would be 12+10 and which equals 22

And for number two since you have a variable you can't use PEMDAS so just distribute the 11 but only to the ones in the parentheses.
So the new equation turns out to be 11x-33+5=0
Okay then, since you need to figure out what x is, you move over -33 and 5 by adding 33 and subtracting 5 which gives you 11x=33-5
And then just solve 11x=28 and x is a decimal number. (x=2.55)
