We will briefly consider a school to understand specialization.
In a school, different teachers teach different grades and different subjects. Moreover, there are other personnel in the school such as administrators which handle affairs other than teaching alone. Bus drivers, janitors and other non-teaching staff of the school also carry out necessary functions for the optimal function of the school.
Without these specializations, the school would not function well. The division of tasks improve efficiency. Moreover, if these departments do not communicate well with one another, more problems can arise.

I cook for my family every day, on my way back home, I phone my family to see what kind of food is in the fridge, so I can go shopping in the market. I take the car via the market home and start at the back of the market and get all of the fresh vegetables I need to cook a pasta dish, I specialize each area of the market to optimize my time, and get better prices for the produce. I ask someone to help me carry my shopping to the car, and phone home to ask my wife to turn on the oven, and start to boil water. Once home I chop the vegetable and cook the pasta, and we sit down for dinner.
