The rectangle below has a total perimeter of 125 cm:

Write an equation and solve it to find the length of the longer side of the rectangle.

Perimeter of a rectangle = (2×Length) + (2×Width)
125= 2L+2(5)
125=2L +10
125-10 = 2L
115=2L
L =115÷2
L=57.5
