The Renaissance (late 14th century to 17th century) was a period of intense change. In this period we saw a great social and cultural changing, new ways of thinking, innovation and creativity. Theories and principles once universally accepted were challenged in a totally different manner. As expected, the Catholic Church was not exception.

The period of 14th century to the middle of the 16th century was a very traumatic period for the Catholic Church. The rising of the Protestantism and the widespread of different Catholic congregations. All those movements resulted from an idea The Catholic Church was corrupt and had too much power. Which also contributed to the rise of Secularism, the belief that religion should be separated from the political and public life of the society.

In sum, we can describe the Catholic Church during the Renaissance began to be seen as corrupt with too much power, letter B.
