Find the distance between the points (1,-8) and (-7,-2)

The square root of
(1-(-7))^2 + (-8-(-2))^2
= the square root of
(64)+(36)
= the square root of 100 or
100^(1/2)
= 10

Therefore, the distance between those two points is 10.
