To make the first step we should remember that the molar mass of sodium is about 23.0 g/mol.
As you know, two moles of sodium produce one mole of hydrogen which means we can already get maximum yield of hydrogen:

2.84 / 2 = 1.42 moles.
Since you have to get number of molecules you need to multiply the number of moles by the Avogadro's constant, and you will get :


1.42 * 6.022 * 10^23 ~ 8.56 * 10^23
