I AM GIVING 99 POINTS!!! IF IT IS ANSWERED IN THE NEXT FEW MINUTES!!

Marjorie evaluated the expression 3x + 2 for x=5 as shown:
3x + 2 = 35 + 2 = 37
What was Marjorie's mistake? What is the correct value of 3x + 2 for x=5?

Hello!

She has multiplied 3x wrong. If x=5, then 3x should equal 15, not 35. But 7 ⋅ 5 = 35 but that is irrelevant. So in total she multiplied incorrectly.

I hope it help!

Marjorie's mistake was that she multiplied 3x wrong. If x=5, then 3x should equal 15, not 35 because 5*3=15.
