you can substitute the(x,y)in the equation to find out the answer.
For example,Is (3,0) a point on 1/3x+y=15.
By Substitute x=3 and y=0 to the equation
1/3(3)+(0)=1,which is =/=15.
So you know that (3,0) is not a point on the equation
