If a star has no measurable parallax, what can you infer?.

I am pretty sure that if a star has no measurable parallax it means that it is placed on unreachable distance so that you need a special equipment in order to get closer and measure parallax. The point is that it is placed too deep in space and you are not able to measure it with basic equip.
