how are the cells at the end of meiosis different from the beginning of meiosis? I have to use the terms chromosome number, haploid, and diploid in my answer.

The cells before meiosis have a diploid chromosome number, just as the cells in the rest of the body. However, the cells after meiosis have a haploid chromosome number, which is equal to half the number of chromosomes in a normal body cell. The cells produced after meiosis are called gametes.
