Solve using elimination.

5x – 9y = -7
-x + 9y = -13

(1) 5x - 9y = -7
(2) -x + 9y = -13

(1)+(2):

(1a) 4x = -20
x = 5

∴ 5(5) - 9y = -7
∴ 9y = 32
∴ y = (32/9)


x = 5
y = (32/9)
