Question

Martin used three wooden craft sticks for a sculpture design. The first stick was 9.545 mm wide. The second stick was 8.23 mm wide. What was the total width of the two sticks?.

Can you please explain how you got the answer. :)

I believe you just add the two lengths, so I'm going to do my best to show you column addition:
9 . 5 4 5
8 . 2 3 +
1 7 . 7 7 5
