3/3=all
all=boys+girls
all-boys=girls
3/3-2/3=girls=1/3

girls=1/3

1/3 of 24 means
1/3 times 24=
24/3=8/1=8

8 girls

1/3 of the class are girls. Since 2/3 = 16/24, and 1/3= 8/24. , there r 8 girls in the class
