it will make it easier to transport goods around the country. guns airplanes, people will try to get on the side of people with the best equipment

The railroad was used to quickly transport troops and cargo. With the trans continental railroad the union was quickly able to keep supply lines in constant use as food, guns, troops, potato heads were in constant motion.
