The second side of a triangular deck is 33 feet longer than the shortest side. The third side of the deck is 33 feet shorter than twice the length of the shortest side. If the perimeter of the deck is 6868 feet, what are the lengths of the three sides?

Perimeter of a triangle=is the sum of all sides.
1st side=x (the shortest side)
2nd side=(x+33)
3rd side=(2x-33)

Perimeter=6868 ft

We can suggest the following equation:
x+(x+33)+(2x-33)=6868
4x=6868
x=6868/4
x=1717

First side=x=1717 ft
second side=x+33=1717+33=1750 ft
third side=(2x-33)=2*1717 -33=3401 ft.

Answer: the lengths of the three sides are 1717 ft, 1750 ft and 3401 ft.
