Answer:

a = 2

b = 4

Explanation:

In parallelogram opposite sides are equal.

4a + b = 2a + 8

4a - 2a + b = 8

2a + b = 8 -----------------(I)

b = 8 - 2a

11b - 10a = 6b

11b - 6b -10a = 0

5b - 10a = 0 ---------(II)

Substitute b = 8 - 2a in equation (II)

5*(8-2a) - 10a = 0

5*8 - 2a * 5 - 10a = 0

40 - 10a - 10a = 0

40 - 20a = 0

-20a = - 40

a = -40/-20

a = 2

Plugin a = 2 in equation (I)

2*2 + b = 8

4 + b = 8

b = 8 -4

b = 4
