The scatter plot below shows the number of pizzas sold during weeks when different numbers of coupons were issued. The equation represents the linear model for this data.

y = 3.4x + 43

According to the model, what is the average number of pizzas sold in one night if no coupons are issued?

43 because the x represents the number of coupons and if 0 coupons were sold the 3.4 *0 is 0 and 0 + 43 is 43

Solution:

The equation representing number of pizzas sold during weeks when different numbers of coupons were issued is

⇒y = 3.4 x + 43 ---------(1)

the equation is linear, where

x=numbers of coupons issued.

y =number of pizzas sold during weeks

If number of coupons issued that is, x=0

Substituting the value of x, in equation (1) gives value of y

→y = 3.4 × 0 + 43

→y= 43

Average number of pizzas sold in one night if no coupons are issued=43

Option (C)→→43
