What is the slope of the line that contains the points (4,-4) and (7,-6)

Graph the points. Then conect them. From on point count up or down to where it's in line with the other point. Then count across so you touch the other point. So maybe you got -8/4? Remember to reduce to -2

Now

slope of a line in two point form m =
(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

where (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) are the coordinates of the two points

(-6+4)/(7-4)

Hence the slope of line is -2/3
