y=mx+b
The m in this equation is equal to the slope of the function while the b equals the y-intercept. However, because the intercept is at zero, the b in the equation is excluded.
y=mx
Now in order to find the slope(m) of the equation, we will use the slope formula in order to find it. The slope formula is this:
(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
So the slope formula when we use the points (1,8) and (2,16) is:
(16-8)/(2-1)=
8/1=
8
Now, that we have the slope, we can plug it into our equation:
y=8x
And there is your answer. Hope this helps you!
