40.5÷5 to solve this you have to :
1.bring up decimal point
2.solve 40÷5 which is 8
3.be aware that know you have 8. as the answer(don't forget decimal point)
4. know divide 5 by 5
5. so your answer is 8.1 ( don't forget decimal )

Maybe go about it this way:
40 divided by 5 equals
8
0.5 divided by 5 equals
0.1
Therefore, you add the two together to get the answer of
8.1
