a system of inequalities that only contain points D and E in the overlapping shaded regions is
5y + 2x > 12
2y - x < 12

Part B:
To verify that points D and E are solutions to the system of inequalities, we plug in the coordinate points of points D and E into the system of ineaqualities.

Part C:
To identify the schools that Timothy is allowed to attend we plug in the coordinate values of the points to see which satisfies the inequality y < 3x - 3. Thus Timothy is allowed to attend schools C and F.
