You multiply the given measurements of a certain shape. Each shape has a different formula to find the area.
Ex:
AΔ=bh/2
AO=pi*r*squared

You have to multiply each side of the triangle or square or whatever say I have a square and one side is 10 and the bottom is 5 well the I would multiply those two to get 50
