Both are similar ideas. Darwin's theory says that the next generations are made by small changes in the present ones. Little by little, future generations will evolve slowly.
Lamarcks theory says that the changes made in present generations will be passed down to future ones. The evolution would happen faster with Lamarcks theory then with Darwin's theory.

Lamarck believed that organisms could acquire characteristics during their lifetime that they could pass down to their offspring, but Darwin did not believe these traits could be passed down.
