Canada for France
Jacques Cartier discovery of Canada for France presently known as Land of Canada. He was the primary European to explore and develop the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and the boundaries of the Saint Lawrence River, which was titled "The Country of Canadas".
Samuel de Champlain started traversing North America in 1603, placing the center of Quebec in the northerly colony of New France, and planning the Atlantic seaboard and the Great Lakes, before descending into an executive role.
