-x + (-y)
= -x - y
= -1.2 - (-10.7)
= -1.2 + 10.7
= 9.5

answer is c. 9.5 (third choice)

x=1.2
y=-10.7
-x+(-y)=-(1.2)+(-(-10.7)=-1.2+10.7=9.5

Answer: -x+(-y)=9.5
