y = –3x + 7
y = 2x – 8
------------subtract
-5x +15 = 0
x = 3

y = –3x + 7
y = -3(3) + 7
y = -9 +7
y = -2

answer is B. (3, –2)

-3x + 7 = 2x - 8
-3x - 2x = -8 - 7
-5x = -15
x = -15/-5
x = 3

y = 2x - 8
y = 2(3) - 8
y = 6 - 8
y = -2

solution is (3,-2)
