Areas, such as a flat plain or a desert, capture and hold a great deal of heat. It is cooler in the mountains because the tall trees absorb the heat from the sun, leaving the ground cooler.

im not 100% sure but I would assume its b) a flat plane. if you break it down, mountains wouldn't be correct because the peaks are cold because they are higher in altitude. a forest may be hot but the trees reject most of the hear from the actual forest floor. and a rolling meadow could also be correct but I would go with flat plain because they are more like a desert and the heat has nothing to be reflected off of. hope that helps.
